True to this, VRK is always in pursuit of his “Ikigai” and his life is an example of a person who is constantly trying to live the life as per Bhagavad gita verse 2.47.

About Ikigai
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means your ‘reason for being.’ ‘Iki’ in Japanese means ‘life,’ and ‘gai’ describes value or worth. Your ikigai is your life purpose or your bliss. It’s what brings you joy and inspires you to get out of bed every day.
“Ikigai” is seen as the convergence of four primary elements:
- What you love (your passion)
- What the world needs (your mission)
- What you are good at (your vocation)
- What you can get paid for (your profession)

Profession
- An astute professional with an overall solid experience of 29+ years with Cross Border International Trading of FMCG, FMCD and New- Gen Products for Global market & highly specialized in Sales & Marketing, Process, Quality Management and People Management with incredible International Exposure
- He was the CEO of Tata FMCG Division Associate the manufacturer of Tata Water + ((JV of Tata Group & PepsiCo Int’l)
- Besides ISHTA Water which was developed from Greenfield stage, he was also the Sr. Mgr. Site Acquisition& EMG for Tata Group – Wireless Teleservices Ltd.
- Currently he is giving Consultancy for FMCG products to big Corporates as well as upcoming Companies both in India and abroad
- Trading: He helps business to trade anything from anywhere and supply worldwide depending upon the need and requirement. Notable examples are:
- Developing new markets, appointed Dealers across South for “SONALIKA”
- “DUNKIN DONUTS” – an US based fast food chain in Thailand, ensuring quick delivery (in Very High Traffic).
- Sales & Marketing with Brand Building: He completely takes ownership of people and works as a TEAM and trains them to achieve the desired goal
- He has been rewarded many awards in the company besides a RECOGNITION AWARD from Supreme Court Judge.
- PŰr – a Baby Feeding Bottle from Royal Group of Companies has international market presence with tie up for brands like Hasbro in the US, Playskool, Chicoo, Artsana in Italy, Tommy Tippee in UK, Haagen-Dazs, etc.
- AIRCEL / DISHNET – Penetrated Sales Across India – Average Revenue Per Unit (ARPU)
- Network Marketing: He firmly believes this is an avenue for making continuous money with hard work, sincerity and he has associated himself with “MAGNESSA”
Vocation
- With complete faith in God, and fuelled by a belief “that life is about more than me” he undertakes lot of Divine Kainkaryam works.
- He is from “MUDUMBAI” Family. Sri Vadakku Thiruveedhi Pillai comes in the lineage of the Srivatsa Gotram Mudumbai Nambi (sister’s husband of Swami Ramanujar), one of the 74 Simhasanadhipatis instituted by Sri Ramanuja himself.
- He is the disciple of Sri Ahobila Mutt.
- He has been associated with Sri Ahobila Mutt and both Azhagiyasingars : His Holiness 45th Jeer Swamigal and His Holiness 46th Jeer Swamigal (Present) have directed him to work on bringing up Brindavanams of all Azhagiya Singar starting from His Holiness 1st Jeer (Sri Adivan Sadagopa Jeer Swamigal).
- Wherever the Brindavanams are not there, under the auspicious advice of HH 45th Jeer and HH 46th Jeer, he has generated funds and developed the Brindavanams at the respective places all over the country.
- He has also supported construction of temples which are in dilipated condition and supported with generation of funds to bring it upright.
- For all important functions and Nakshatrams, he will be visiting respective Divya Desam. Notable are every Swathi Nakshatram (Ahobilam Mutt – Ahobilam), every Thiruvonam (Sharavanam) –
- Parakala Mutt – Mysore, every Thiruvadhirai (Swami Ramanuja Temple – Sriperambadur), every Friday to get blessings of Sri Srinivasa Peruamal from Tirumala Thirupathi Devasthanam.
- In addition to the above, he will be present for all Ahobila Mutt related functions and rituals.
- He also goes to Andavan Ashramam, Poundaripuram Ashramam as they all follow Swami Vedanta Desika principles
Mission
- As a sense of duty to give back to the society and also following the “Sanathana Dharma” principle of donating a portion of one’s earnings towards Charity as per the Bhagavad Gita Verse 17.20
- दातव्यमिमत यद्दानं दीयतेऽनुपकारिणे | देशे काले च पात्रे च तद्दानं सात्त्विकं स्मृ ति् || 20||
- “Charity given to a worthy person simply because it is right to give, without consideration of anything in return, at the proper time and in the proper place, is stated to be in the mode of goodness”
- He started his own trust in 2004 – “DHARMA VIKAAS CHARITABLE TRUST”, and he has been providing

- Support of Educational Fees to featherless Children
- In addition to the trust activities, he also actively involves and supports during natural calamities
- After “TSUNAMI” – He has supported a village near ECR, Mahabalipuram for appx. 200 families
- During the “Chennai Floods -2015”, he has supported the needy by providing family essential requirements
- Currently, in “COVID-19, India- 2020”, He has supported people with food, mask supply free including few Police Stations
- The Contributions are his own and also from his close friends and other “like minded charitable” people in his network.
- He is a popular figure in Facebook and people recognizes his services and volunteers themselves with financial as well as personal support
Passion
- The Concept of developing more “Ashitagas”, who will bring the temple to their home, by doing Pooja to small sized idols/ vigrahams religiously, has fascinated VRK and his lifelong passion has been to promote the “Sanathana Dharmam”
- He closely works with Stapathis and bring in small size Idol / Vigrahams in Panchaloga Metal and delivers to Bakthas who seeks to grow in spiritual path.
- To his credit, he has done many and special note is during Swami Ramanuja 1000th Thirunakshathiram in which he has made a small 3 inch Vigraham which brought him more name and fame which is due to Swami Ramanuja paripoorna kadaksham
- “BHARAT VIKAS PARISHAD” – an active NGO with Swami Vivekananda principles of “They only live who live for others”: VR Kannan is attached since 1999, for carrying out various social welfare activities
- His passionately supports and volunteers for the activities of LIONS CLUB as well ROTARY CLUB:
- Has been given the “SEVA RATNA” Award from Lions Club International for noble “Services to the Society” [2011]
- “AAJEEVANASADHAKA” [Lifetime Achievement Award] from Lions Club International [2016]
- Award from ROTARY INT’L, Thailand [1994] for active support, dedication & contribution in club projects, fund raising & selfless service.
- HONORARY DOCTORATE for SOCIAL SERVICE by Indian Virtual University for Education and Peace, regd. With NITI AAYOG, Government of India on 27th August 2016
- In addition to the various social services, he also pursues “Yoga” as an art and a way of life. He has completed M.Sc (Yoga) and Post Graduate Diploma (Yoga), from TNPESU.
